I hope everyone had a fantastic holidays season. Mine was wonderful. I spent time working and celebrating with family.
How was 2017 for everyone? Mine was a mixture of mental turmoil and spiritual happiness. I'm the luckiest person because I got to go to meditation retreat and saw my teacher Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche in person and at the same time, I met Barbara Moore and had a wonderful time with her.
Kicking off the new year with great happy news, I'm able to fly to Vietnam this year to spend Lunar New Year with my father after 12 years. I'm excited and looking forward to it very much.
Leaving you with something to ponder, I drew some Tarot cards in the spread from Llewellyn's Tarot Calendar by Barbara Moore.
On the side note, if you have an interest in Tarot, get this calendar. It's beautiful and full of useful tidbits; it even includes the Fool's Journey and Celtic Cross! Look at January!
On a side note, if I had drawn these cards years ago when I was a novice, I would freak out, "OMG! All court cards!", you know what I'm talking about, right, fellow Tarot readers?
1. Something saved: Page of Swords: Knowledge. This year, continue to learn all that you can, it might come in super handy later. I can testify how much meditation has changed my life for the better.
2. Something given: King of Cups: Love and support. This year, support your loved ones and even strangers any way you can. The world always needs more loving kindness. Don't be afraid to love.
3. Something grown: Knight of Wands: Passion and purpose. This year, focus your energy towards your passion. Nourish that creative side of you, what brings you joy, what sets your heart ablaze? Perhaps slowly get back to the hobby you once love, perhaps start exploring what makes your soul happy like a child again.
4. Something received: Page of Pentacles: Support. This year, don't be afraid to receive help and support. How often do we need help but are too afraid to ask? How often do we refuse the love and support from others because we deem ourselves unworthy or we feel an incline to pay back in some way? Set that mental noise aside and receive and appreciate the help and support when it's offered.
What a lovely message, right? I should send it out as newsletter too which I haven't sent out any in the past year, I'm a terrible marketer since I can't find to words to put in a newsletter. I hope whoever needs to hear this message will see it.
May you be safe.
May you have joy and happiness.
May your path be blissful and prosperous.
