However, I jumped at the chance to read for charity at the retreat for women cancer. The organization Faces of Courage hosted a weekend retreat each year for women fighting cancer and their supporters. This year, together with members of a new spiritual church called Temple of Spiritual Awareness, I volunteered to read tarot for Saturday afternoon. It was my first public reading and my first in-person reading. Needless to say, I was very nervous. Way to jump in if you have never read in-person for people, right?
I came prepared with a blessing ritual I learned from journeying the morning of that day to freely offer it for whoever accepted it. To my surprise, most people signed up for my table and some of them had to wait for their turns! I was completely shocked! I was the first the start and the last to wrap up my table that afternoon. What shocked me even more was the feedback. People gave their feedback to the organizer and the head of the church and they relayed the feedback to me. To my delight and surprise, all of them were positive. The Faces of Courage organizer even sat down for a reading with me. A gentleman who had never had a reading before came to me with no question and I was able to help him to disclose his crisis and helped him heal. He said he was "mind-blown" and I was there wondering if he was satisfied with the reading.
Of course, I'm bragging about this because I'm deliriously happy. I found great satisfaction offering readings and blessing for people that accepted it. There were many that didn't want the blessing ritual but the ones that accepted it, I saw their misty eyes and they got up lighter. I sent a silent "thank-you" to Gaia every time I finished blessing for giving me such ritual!
With that positive experience, and some more positive readings with friends, I decided to try out other format besides email for reading. Right now, I'm asking volunteers for free tarot reading on Skype or chat so I work out any kink. Keep in mind, I'm brutally blunt and in these kind of reading, I can't always double check my words or voice to keep it more assertive. However, I've never meant any offense. If you want to give me a try, contact me.
To end this post, here's a message from my guides to myself and to my readers:
The storm has passed and the rainbow comes out. Count my blessings! This is not only the brighter side, we should always remember we're loved! Let go of any shame or guilt. Innocence is a quality that after so many hardships in life, we tend to lose it. Remember life is beautiful if we keep wonder in our eyes and in our heart. And Gaia! Oh Dear Gaia! I has a special connection with her and seeing her card here make me rejoiced! It's good to be on the receiving end. So open our heart and receive her blessings. Nurture ourselves!
This will be the message that I'll come back and read and remind myself in the future. I hope you like this message. :)
