The cards caught me off guard when I received the deck. The pictures on the internet didn't do them justice! The colors and the images just popped for me. For some reasons, maybe due to the deck's material, this deck shuffled like a dream! I finished the book in few nights. It was one of the most well-written companion book for any deck ever! Barbara Moore did a great job describing each card and I loved her "flavor text" for each card. It gave you extra connection to the cards and you felt like each of them was a character in a movie.
I asked the deck about our relationship.
9 of Swords can be a scary card as it usually means you're losing sleep over something such as guilt or anguish. The Hermit is a lonely card, wise but lonely and I didn't expect to get such card for tarot reading. I stopped myself and had to look at the cards closely since I read without spread.
As a whole, the deck will help me examine my thoughts and things that bother me. I can shine my own inner light on things that occupy my minds. In that way, I learn wisdom and weed out what to keep and what not to keep for my working philosophy. Eventually, I'll gain much self-confidence in my readings and will be at home at the tarot world.
In the few following weeks, I used the deck to read for some volunteers and I got great feedback. I have to say, the deck's images continue to pop for me. Although some readings made me stop and think, they always offered deeper insights! I can definitely see myself reaching for this deck often when I read for others.
If you're a tarot reader at any level, I'd highly recommend this deck. The book makes it easy for a beginner to start and offers enough information to keep an advanced reader interested. A great deck overall! Now, who wants a reading? :D
